Samsung Electronics today announced the release of the Galaxy A (2016) smartphones that offer premium design and enhanced camera features. The Galaxy A (2016) incorporates Samsung’s latest in innovative design and technology.
The new smartphone is said to give consumers the ability to express their individuality with powerful performance in three screen size options: 5.5-inch for the A7, 5.2-inch for the A5 and 4.7-inch for the A3.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Jung Hyun Park, the Vice President of Samsung Electronics East Africa Ltd said that they are committed to continued innovation, inspired by the feedback and needs of our wide range of consumers. “With the introduction of the Galaxy A (2016), we took the consumer feedback on our original Galaxy A models and made thoughtful and impactful improvements offering consumers a seamless convergence of style and performance for their everyday lifestyle”, he said.
The Galaxy A (2016) continues the latest Samsung Galaxy design heritage, combining metal and glass to create a beautifully harmonious premium design and provides superior viewing experience with narrower bezel.
Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2016) have the fingerprint verification feature which allows you to secure your personal content using your finger as opposed to the traditional password or secure pattern method. Users can also enjoy extended phone usage with the Galaxy A series’ high capacity battery & high speed charging technology which reduces the charging time.
With the coverage of 4G network expected to increase in Kenya after Airtel and Orange received approval from the Communication Authority of Kenya to start test 4G technology on their networks last year, all the Galaxy A (2016) models come with the latest 4G LTE technology and Galaxy A (2016) series users will thus enjoy fast 4G speeds . Safaricom is the only operator currently offering the high-speed data technology.
This new model also comes equipped with an enhanced camera system for both brighter and clearer photos and videos. This advanced system includes Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to prevent image blurring, as well as a front and rear F1.9 lens to allow users to take the optimum photos in dark conditions. With Samsung’s Quick Launch feature, double clicking the home button launches the camera in less than a second. Consumers will also have a wide variety of selfies with features including Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie and Beautifying Effects.
The Galaxy A (2016) will be available in 3 versions in all Samsung Authorized dealer shops. The retail recommended prices are:
Galaxy A7 at Ksh49,999,
Galaxy A5 at Ksh43,999 and
Galaxy A3 at Ksh31,999.
The devices will come bundled with Slim Cover and 3GB Data bundle from Safaricom.
