October is breast cancer awareness month. As it is expected, many campaigns have been put forward to encourage women to get checked for breast cancer. Some of the campaigns are to show support for breast cancer warriors.

One such campaign is No Bra Day. National No Bra Day is observed annually on October 13. This is a day to leave your bra at home.  This day is meant to promote breast cancer awareness and to help raise money for research. Many women who have survived breast cancer are unable to go without a bra as they need it to hold their prosthesis after surgery.

The best advice to all women is to have your breasts checked by a doctor. There are many clinics that have breast screening offers during the month of October. I am sure you can find these offers and go for the test. Meanwhile, you can perform a self Breast exam.

We borrowed an info-graphic to assist our readers with the self exam. Here it is.

Should you find any abnormalities consult your doctor immediately. Remember, early diagnosis can save your life.

I write, read, laugh, sing and sometimes just observe. Many say I am silent in person and outspoken online. I guess it is a trait writers share. Welcome to my world.
